Time to get between T5 and T1 in O'Hare Chicago

I have 90 mins to arrive from London, get bags, clear immigration and get to T1 from T5 for a domestic flight. What is the likelihood of achieving this?

Not good. It depends on immigration and custom which can take 30 minutes to an hour, take the airport tram from one end of the airport to the other, go through security for domestic and get to your gate to board a half hour before departure time. Unless you are staying on the same carrier and they guarantee your connection you should give yourself another hour of transfer time.

Assuming you're flying code-share, United will automatically re-book you on the next available flight.

As SS said, it kind of depends. If you are flying United to United, there is a good chance you will make it. You will already have your second boarding pass. The question is how busy customs is and how busy security is at Terminal 1. My experience is you will make it if there are not a ton of planes from landing from overseas at the same time. You will first go through customs, then retrieve luggage, then recheck ( takes just a second) and take the train to T 1. You can save a ton of time if you can carry on your luggage. That would pretty much guarantee you will make it as long as your international flight is close to landing on time.

It's all about what day and time you're arriving. TU/TH are very slow overall, of course the weekends are busier.

All these arrive from LHR and will assume ontime arrive or early.

UA929 - will make it

AA087 - will make it

AA047 - peak time, depends on total passengers in immigration que

UA959- will make it

BA295 - peak time, depends on total passengers in immigration que

BA297 - will make it

Hope this helps
