where to stay for a cubs game?

THinking about a road trip to a cubs game this weekend. After making several offers on priceline for river north and loop that were turned down where else would be a good locatiom to stay, but still be able to catch a train ride to the game. We dont want to be on a train for 45 min! Someone suggested Rosemont? I am clueless!

Rosemont is O'Hare Airport - 45 minutes (plus time between trains) to downtown on the Blue LIne 15 minutes to transfer trains and 15 minutes on the red line to Wrigley field. If you're interested in that prospect, The Marriott Suites at the Cumberland Station of the Blue Line (across the parking lot) is showing hotels.com prices at $119.00. You might try to bargain there. From the prices listed on hotels.com downtown hotels it looks like your going to have to bargain around $175-$200. for a hotel room this weekend. Even the not recommendable Ohio House is at $176. for rooms this weekend and you do not want to stay there.

The Best Western on Broadway is often overlooked and within walking distance to Wrigley. Not sure how their rates compare.

I think that Chicagoern is referring to Hawthorne Terrace …bestwestern.com/bestwestern/… However, they are showing $260./night+ for their remaining rooms this weekend with a minimum of a 2 night stay.

Before somebody sends you chasing your tail, also in the neighborhood are Broughton Hotels http://www.cityinns.com/ They're more boutique style and none of them have vacancies this weekend.

Days Inn on Diversey is good and not too far. It is close to the intersection of Diversey and Broadway and Clark.

Hampton Inn in Skokie. Right off of 94. Free parking & breakfast + indoor pool.

A ten minute drive to the CTA yellow line station to get you to the game. http://www.transitchicago.com/

i second skokie.

once you get on the skokie swift, you'll see many other cubs fans going to the game.....

thing is, it's north, so you might have to deal with chicago traffic to get from I-88 to skokie.... try not to hit it during rush hour....
