Italian Steak Sandwich , thin crust pizza

Where can I get a good classic Chicago Italian steak sandwich near the Hyatt Regency?

How about thin pizza?

Thank you.

Hyatt Regency O'Hare or Wacker Drive? Do you mean Italian beef?

type Italian Beef in the search engine. As far as pizza goes... what's thin crust? We eat deep dish and stuffed here. Look at the Pizza Sticky in Top Questions.

The Regency on Wacker.

Yes, Italian Beef with giardiniera.

Our local restaurant (Pizza Man) is a Chicago themed restuarant owned by transplants who say that thin crust are also Chicago pizzas and do only thin, which is my favorite.

Try Portillo's, Al's or Mr. Beef for the sandwich. Don't ask which is best - it's a personal and cultural preference (aka a pointless debate) like Cubs v. Sox. Two good thin crust pizza places are Pizano's (on Madison, within walking distance of the Hyatt) and D'Agostino's (River West.) I also like Malnati's thin crust, (which is cornmeal, not a cracker-like crust). Add extra tomatoes, please, and I'll be right over.

Ranalli's thin was decent last time I had it, D'agostino's thin is good, too, but some people say their sauce is too sweet (I won't post what I say about those people). There are probably other good neighborhood places in the city, you could google Chicago Pizza Club and check their blog for ideas. Just remember: if the place cuts a thin crust like a pie and not in squares, you're not getting the real deal. And you are correct, there is a Chicago style thin, as well as the more famous Chicago style deep-dish.

you will often see me in line at Portillo's ordering an Italian Combo, hot, which is the beef and the sausage with giardinara, and cheese fries.

I have ordered it less in summer, but I think once sweaters come back I may have to start again

Pizano's is very popular for thin crust, but like others I prefer Lou Malnati's

Portillo's Hot Dogs and Lou Malnati's are about a mile away. Pizano's is a bit closer. I will check out Chicago Pizza Club.

Msmejkal, it is nice seeing a familiar face.

Thanks, all!

For think crust pizza, I like Pizano's or any mom and pop store better than the chains like Lou Malanatis or Girodanos.
