River Walk map -- ends of. Photography options

Is there definite ends to this trail -- a best place to start and finish. Don't really want to start in the middle. Understand very attractive for photo ops -- do you prefer early dawn or dusk for best light? Thanks appreciate all suggestions.

It spans from Lake Shore Drive to Franklin Street. Where to start and stop - that's up to you. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Riverwalk

Note the hours. And keep in mind that a number of these attractions are based on the season.

The Melas centennial fountain and water canon is at the end of McClurg Ct at the river on the north side of the river. The river walk on that side now goes as far as Trump Towers. The River walk on the south side goes from the Lake Shore Drive Bridge to Lake st.(Wolf Point). The Riverwalk is a work in progress. There are some interesting vistas from river level but the best photo ops are up on street level.

Dawn light is better. The walk is really only 1/2 mile long at the most. It has great views but you can get similiar views from the Michigan Ave bridge. There are a few good lunch spots on the rivere walk.

I've taken many early morning snaps of the Tribune Walk during early morning runs from the river walk. It can be very beautiful when the light catches it right. I'd also recommend walking from the river to the lake an getting some pics of the sun raising over the lake.

you can take the riverwalk and then follow south along the shoreline to Northerly Island. Lots of walkers, seways, bikes along the path. There is a cute little beach at Northerly Island too.
