Lincoln Park Zoo and Oak Street Beach from the Burbs

Hi-my 17 year old daughter and her boyfriend would like to go to the zoo and the beach one day but don't want to drive. They can take the train to the Ogilvie Center but then I'm not sure what their best bet is from there. Would prefer not to take a cab and I'm thinking it's a far walk-can anyone recommend a bus, or does the trolley go out there? Thanks!

From Ogilvie, walk east on Washington to State. Take the 151 bus up to the zoo.

Since are headed to Oglivie, they are probably coming on atrain that stops at Clybourn beofre it reaches oglivie. They should get off there and get the eastbound armitage bus #73 which stops about two blocks from the zoo, and continues south about a ten minute walk from Oak Street beach.
