Hello! My family is planning a week in the Chicago area next month, and are considering taking a few days to drive down to Nauvoo and other interesting/charming sites along the way. But I've heard the town kind of shuts down after summer? Is it worth the drive? We're not anxious about seeing EVERYTHING in Chicago - my husband went to grad school there, and we're both familiar with the city - so we just want this to be fun for the kids and not stressful for us. The kids are 2, 4 and 5, but really excellent, pro travelers :-) We are LDS, so the church history stuff is interesting to us. Any tips or advice would be very much appreciated!! Thanks!!!
