New Exhibit At IMA This Month - Worth Visiting

The Indianapolis Museum of Art (the IMA) will feature, in the 3rd floor exhibit hall the "Ron Winters Crew NFL Penalty Hall of Fame".

I haven't yet viewed the exhibit, but understand from many who are in the know that it will be a multi-media affair showing the shocking array of calls and missed calls that comprised perhaps one of the most incompetently officiated playoff games of the past ten or twenty years. Referee Winters himself will be present during the duration of the exhibit, in a special interactive "performance art" piece where art aficionados are encouraged to question, berate, pelt with rotting food, etc. referee Winters.

A special ticket is required, costing $15 - well worth the price I'm guessing. San Diego residents are welcome - Indy residents want them to know they bear no grudge & that SD certainly deserved to win the game, but it would have been nice to have the game decided WITHOUT Mr. Winters crews' own "performance art".

Wow. It is painful to watch a game being decided by officating not the players. Again having to wait until next year. I am still happy that New England is not even in the playoffs.

Boy howdy. As ecstatic as I was for our wins in the AFC Championship against the Pats and eventual Super Bowl win against Chicago, I think I was even happier last year when the Giants beat the Pats - destroying their claim to immortality.

A Pats-free playoff season is a good thing. That'll have to do for the remainder of this year.

It is still hard to get used to seeing Adam Vinatari in a Colts uniform. I know he has been here what two years, but old habits die hard. Still trying to forget about the old kicker old what was his name?

We've had a slew of good kickers. I'm guessing you're thinking of Mike Vanderjagt (who hasn't managed to find an NFL home for more than a season anywhere since).

Oh yeah, That's right Mike Vander whatever. After he missed that kick in his last game with the Colts. I have tried successfully to block out his memory. And did Adam Vinatari have to pick number 4. It was Jim Harbaugh's old number. Captain Comeback.

Dave,

San Diego felt the brunt of bad ref calls during the 2008 season more than any other NFL team. San Diego is the only team to have the NFL admit for errors this season that had absolute effects on the final score. This started with the opening game at Denver and continued throughout the season.

I like the Colts, but in the game last week one can't think of what the score could have been without the Charger drive to the 1 yd line and fumble and the interception in the endzone. Peyton did a really great "trick play" that caught the Chargers asleep, but including that great play it was an accomplishment for the Chargers to hold him to 17 points.

The football bounces funny ways and yes, the refs are human and they make mistakes, but this unpredictability leads to the fact that fans always have "hope" because on any given day either team can win.

Enjoy life and be glad you are not a NFL ref!

Talking with some friends. Just hypothetically speaking after maybe the second punt inside the 10 yard line. Take the 15 yard penalty and don't let him punt again. Yes, I know it is unsportsmanlike but those punts changed the game to SD's favor.
