Nashville General Store and Bakery-lazy staff

I reccommended to a buddy and his family to eat at the Nashville General Store and Bakery for supper last nite- they were there at what? 7-10 minutes before 5; the staff told them they close at 5 and wouldn't serve them...NO sign telling you what time they stop serving.

So he went down to the Hob-Nob and dropped around 75 bucks on what he described as a "great meal"...Shrimp Jambalya and Cajun Chicken soup and great tenderloin sandwiches.

The "bakery" is getting too comfortable with their status?

No. If they close at 5, they are not in the business of serving an evening meal. Showing up 10 minutes before 5 and expecting a sit down dinner is unreasonable.

You have no idea how long the people worked that day. Bakeries start early. The proprietor could have already put in 12 hours, and might have another couple of hours of clean up. That's not lazy.

They don't serve an evening meal.

Well, I don't know if either of you guys have been there; it's not a "sit down and take your order" resturant. You order your food at a "make up station" and then get your food at the cash register. Nevertheless... a sign saying "no food orders after __ pm would be helpful.

It "used" to be a place that stayed open as long as there were people there- I miss that...

I have been there. We bought dessert and ate it at a table outside.

I am the owner of the Nashville General Store & Bakery I am very sorry to hear about what happened. My staff knows that we serve until we close and if someone comes in at the last minute they are to serve them regardless. I sure appreciate knowing this and can guarantee it will never happen again!! This was brought to my attention about this post just yesterday and will be discussing this with each and every employee.

Thank you for making us aware of this.

Yep, an owner responded to a TA forum posting (in an appropriate way in my opinion) after they became aware if it.

Nothing to see here, move along.
