Thanksgiving Dinner in Baton Rouge

My son is staying in town to see the Arkansas game so we are looking for somewhere to take him for Thanksgiving.in Baton Rouge it doesn't have to be a Turkey Dinner, we'd like to find something that won't break the bank but a leisurely place to eat and talk...and preferably not a chain restaurant. Please help us out...LSU Mom

I'm not sure which restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day. I'd start with Mansur's, Juban's and Galatoire's which will be more upscale and nice for Thanksgiving dinner.

For more casual, check Parrain's on Perkins near campus to see if they will be open or maybe one of the new restaurants in Towne Center off Corporate Blvd. - Bonefish Grill (seafood), P.F. Chang (chinese), or Carraba's (Italian).

The new Hilton Capitol Center Hotel downtown is getting great reviews. They may have a nice buffet for Thanksgiving.

We are also going out for Turkey Day Dinner...

We usually do on Thanksgiving and then Big Family Xmas dinner...

so from experience I can tell you 2 GREAT, affordable Thanksgiving Dinner Buffets....

Casino Rouge

$21.95 per person..but absolutey delicious and gorgeous views of the river.

Holiday Inn Select (formerly The Radisson)

$17.95 per person and very good (second to the Casino Rouge, tho).

Good Luck,

Enjoy your meal and Happy Thanksgiving!
