Local Produce?

Will be visiting Bailey Island the last week in June and was curious about places to purchase Local Produce..farmers markets , farm stands etc...also wondering if there was anything interesting or special that I should look for.

I'm so very excited to cook up there!!! Can you buy seafood from fisherman right off the boat?

I'm not sure if there is a farmer's market down in Bailey Island or Orrs Island, but there is a regular farmers market in Brunswick. See http://www.brunswickfarmersmarket.com/

If you are here on Saturday, try the Farmers Market at Crystal Spring Farm, also in Brunswick. See http://www.crystalspringcsa.com/

If you don't want to come all the way into Brunswick, try "The Vegetable Corner" on the Harpswell Road. Take 24 north out of Bailey Island, turn right on Mountain Road (the cross road which connects Route 24 to Route 123). You'll find The Vegetable Corner at the intersection of Mountain Road and Route 123.

There might be a roadside farmer who brings produce closer to you, this is just what I know about living in Brunswick.
