1. Re: Departure tax

I have never paid a departure tax. Most US airlines/tour companies factor that into the ticket price.

I have never paid a departure tax with any Canadian or US Airlines in 20 years (only for my infant which we had to pay upon departure with a scheduled airline, not a charter).

Simple answer: yes. Explanation: all taxes are included in the ticket price when traveling from the U.S. and Canada (or on any SCHEDULED airline - just not on UK charters).

On the receipt for your airline tickets, the departure tax is shown. You have paid it already.

The Cancun airport website says:

"Most of the time this airport tax is included in the price of your ticket. Please check with your airline or check your airline ticket to make sure the tax is included. Depending on the exchange the tax is around $48.00 USD per person."

Hope that helps.

Everyone pays the depature tax. For anyone travelling to the US or Canada, it's included in the price of your ticket. If you are travelling to the UK with BA or Virgin, the tax is similarly included in your ticket. ONLY if you are travelling to the UK with Thomsons or Thomas Cook do you have to pay this tax separately.
