Primo is the best and Atlantica is second, in my opinion. Atlantica has the harbor view and Primo has charming decor and fine gourmet food. I haven't been to Francine's.
At a good restaurant anyone should be able to dine well, even those traveling alone and I would think that would be the case with these three.
Primo had the most upscale ambiance and prices but very subtle tastes/flavors. The dishes were tasty but if you need bold, spicy and exciting go elsewhere. I felt like we were eating spa food. The man at the table next to us was there alone and seemed to receive good service.
Francine is a casual bistro (in Maine overall I was surprised that even the better restaurants were very casual) with a brief menu--only four or five dishes for each course. I noticed a single diner eating at the bar. This was the smallest place and perhaps most likely to prefer that singles not take up a two-top.
Atlantica was also very good--I'm surprised it didn't come up more often in the pre-trip research I did. It had a deck with beautiful views of the harbor. Many of the appetizers were upscale versions of fun foods--crab cake sliders, lobster "corn dogs." Prices were not bad and the atmosphere was bustling.
Hope this helps you decide.
