Acadia National Park has lots of fun outdoor activities for children from hiking to kayaking to biking on the car-free carriage roads to boat excursions out to the small islands. Look for a place to stay in the Bar Harbor area.

Boothbay Harbor is a very family-friendly town, offering lots of activity -- including sailing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, whale-watch tours, as well as bowling, train rides, miini-golf, and a really great YMCA, among other things. Check out the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce website at http://www.boothbayharbor.com/

Picking just one area of either State would be a task in itself.

Maine is 35,385 sq miles ( 91,646 km ) large

The New Hampshire is 9,400 sq miles ( 24,215) large.

How long are you visiting For?

Is price an issue as to where you stay?

5 people in one room could be a problem.

What kind of outdoor sports are you accustomed to?

What would you like to try?
