Boston & York Visit

I'm taking my kids (10g & 12boy) on their first visit out east. We're staying 5 nights north of Boston (Danvers) and 3 nights in York, Maine. I've been to Boston several times but what do you suggest are must see/do activities and places with the kids beyond the Freedom Trail? I'd love to know of kid friendly, inexpensive restaurants. Should we whale watch in ME or Glouster? We're driving up June 18-28. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Even though you are visiting York, your question is about Boston, you would probably get a better response if you post this question in Boston forum.

Regarding Whale watching, even though there are couple of whale watching companies in Southern Maine, the popular options are further north in Portland, Boothbay Harbor or Bar Harbor.

Again this is The Oguquit forum. But as far as Whale Watching In Perkin Cove you will find boats to take you out for different event. The Kids may like to go on a Boat to catch Lobster and be taught how they do it, what is the right size to keep and much more. There is also a boat to The Nubble Light which is very nice.. And " The Marginal Way " a 1.7 mile walk Way along the Coast can't be beat for Yourself and The Kids enjoyment . And there is Plenty of places to eat in all price range. So take a Day trip and enjoy Ogunquit which is about 13 miles North of York . Enjoy !

If your staying in Danvers you should try Reds, fairly new place always packed and the prices are excellent.

Your about 10 min from the place.

Being near Route one gives you dozens of places to eat that are reasonable.

If you like Chiness then try Su Changs in Peabody, again very close to you in Danvers. Excellent food and service priced right, my Grand kids love eating here.

Another place, Great food, great service and priced right, they serve huge dishes so be aware. Another favorite the Grand kids love.
