What to do in Portland

We will be spending two nights and one day in Portland Labor Day.

Any advice on what to do for the day and good food.

Check out --

-- Portland Head Light lighthouse in nearby Cape Elizabeth

-- Portland Museum of Art

-- Old Port district of shops, botiques, restaurants, restored buildings

-- A Casco Bay Ferry ride to a harbor island

-- Portland Duck Tours

-- The pedestrian trail around Back Cove

-- Portland Sea Dogs baseball game

(You can Google most of these for additional info).

Food? Lots of great places to eat in the Old Port. Checck out "Restaurants" listing under "More on Portland" at the above left side of this page.... Specific recommendations depend on what kinds of food you're looking for and price range....

If you are into history you can check out the Longfellow House/Maine Historical Society or Victoria Mansion.

For food see PortlandFoodMap.com or the North New England forum at chowhound.com
