Enterprise rental in the airport vs downtown??

To rent from the Enterprise at the airport is nearly double the rate of the other location on Marginal Way. With the length of our trip, we are talking about saving $200+ and it seems like the convenience of being at the airport can't be worth that much. I called and spoke with a rep today and she said they are about an 8min ($12-14 cab fare) drive from the airport. Does anyone have experience renting from the facility not associated with the airport?

No personal experience but both Hertz on Warren Ave and Enterprise downtown have good reputations according to previous posts here on the board.

With Hertz you can often book the car to RETURN to the airport at no extra charge, so you're only paying the cab fare one way. Not sure if Enterprise will let you do the same.

Enterprise also has a location on Western Ave. in South Portland that's only about a mile from the airport. Don't know how prices compare for that location, but it's a shorter cab ride.
