1 Meal in Portland

We are 2 parents with a teenage daughter. Portland is not our destination. It is a stop to explore and have dinner on the way. I'm looking for nothing fancy. I'd like a local, reasonably priced joint that has to have seafood and a few other things for the picky eaters. Fisherman's Grill looked right up our alley but will be closed the day we are there. Any suggestions is appreciated. Also just having a few hours, what must we see?

Haven't eaten at Fisherman's Grill, but after looking at their menu, a couple places came to mind that have similar offerings. Take a look at Gilbert's Chowderhouse and J's Oyster. Both are primarily seafood with a couple items like hamburgers or chicken sandwiches for the non seafood eater. Definitely nothing fancy about either one. You could also consider Two Lights Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth - about 15 minutes from Portland with a great location, right on the rocky coast with the option to eat at picnic tables outside (just protect your food from the seagulls).

Or maybe Becky's Diner on Commercial Street at the west end of the waterfront.... Website includes menus if you want to check it out ahead of time....
