Safe Town/ area to stay - bet. Bowie & DC

Making a trip to MD with stops in Bowie & DC.

Looking for recommendation of nice, SAFE towns / areas to stay in (hotel) convenient to both.

Thx.

The hotels in National harbor could work.

There are hotels in Bowie but they are of the budget variety. Not sure what kind of place you're looking for but there is a Hampton Inn and Comfort Inn. Nothing particularly unsafe about the area around either one.

From Bowie you can drive into Washington or drive to New Carrollton and take Metro.

Personally I don't think National Harbor is a great option. It's close to 25 miles away from Bowie and subject to some fairly heavy traffic if you're doing the drive during morning or evening rush hour. National Harbor is also a bit inconvenient to get to Washington, and you'll pay to park at any of the hotels there.

If you're looking for more upscale lodging you might consider Annapolis. A fairly easy drive to Bowie, but a much longer one to Washington or New Carrollton.

Well as irish showed not a lot of great options. Note that issues with my suggestion had nothing to do with safety.

Check out the Marriott Inn and Conference Center in College Park. Close to metro, and fairly easy access to 95. There is also a Holiday Inn in College Park right next to 95. These are not places where you would want to stroll around (like Annapolis or Baltimore) because there isn't much to see, but they are convenient and reasonable accommodations,

I never felt good about strolling around in downtown Baltimore personally. How is Bowie? Nice small town or strip mall heaven?

Can't help your feelings. Mine are different. Rather chew nails than stay on bowie as a tourist
