competitive activities?

Hi - Going down with a group of guys (early 30s) and we were going to try to get an Olympic theme going for the weekend where we compete in different events. Right now I was thinking

-Golf

-Minigolf

-Go Kart Racing

-Basketball at Northside Park

-Beach football/frisbee

-Various Boardwalk games

Had a couple questions,

1) are there any other creative type of events we could play

2)what are the best places for golf, minigolf and go kart racing?

Absolutely do the laser tag! You guys will have a blast. Try and arrange to have it as a private party so you're the only ones in there at that time. Great fun.

If it rains, you can do the mini golf tourney at the one on 136th St. rather than the 64th St. one. That one always gets packed.

The basketball courts at Northside need to be reserved ahead of time for the indoor courts. There are 4 available. Non resident fee is $50-55 an hour per court. There can be additional charges.

If you can't get Northside, there is also a recreation complex downtown on 3rd St. with basketball courts on the bay side.

Baja Amusements in West OC for go karts.

For golfing help, contact www.ocgolfgroups.com . They can set you up.

Of course, you could always go out on a fishing boat and have a "biggest fish" competition.

Beach volleyball? There are nets set up along the boardwalk.

ah thanks that's really really helpful. we'll definitely be incorporating beach volleyball and laser tag. i'll take a look at the fishing, i'm afraid if it takes too long we won't have time for the other activities

Several shots, followed by riding the Zipper, then time everybody to see who is fastest through the Mirror Maze tipsy and dizzy...

There's a decent bar upstairs from fast food joint (think it's BK) right on the boardwalk near the Zipper, across from Sportland. They even have DFH on draft.

Rent standup paddleboards and do a race in the bay. Much fun! OC SUP and Fitness at Fagers rents them as well as 48th Street Watersports.
