Hotel advice needed!

Hello all!

My girlfriends and I are going to OC mid July and I've been searching hotels and apartments and I cannot decide which is best. So for everyone whose been there and has stayed somewhere Great, I'd love to hear from you.

Here is what we ultimately want:

-on the boardwalk

-access to beach from hotel or across boardwalk

-cleanliness! Omg big factor. I've seen so many reviews with pictures of mold.

-equipped with fridge and microwave as I have food allergies so I travel with my own food,

-decent not to expensive price

-I saw a few places that have outside bars/pools. I love this idea and their own bands! Yes

Tidelands Caribbean - it is where I stay every year with my 2 grandkids, my teen daughter and her teen friend. It is right on the boardwalk at 5th street. We always get oceanfront because I love sitting on the balcony and people watching, and it is peaceful to sit out there and listen to the waves in the early morning when everyone else is asleep. They have 2 pools, one on the top of the Oceanfront building, which we rarely use, but it's there and then the other is connected to their other building and has the blue fin bar/restaurant attached. You can sit in your lounge chair and the girls will bring your drink and food orders to you. Nice music and usually not too crowded. the Tidelands is clean, and the hotel staff has always taken care of any problems quickly. there is a dunkin donuts right below so you have quick access to a fast breakfast or evening snack. You can also get a room around the pool but the view is wonderful.in the oceanfront part so we always get that. I have stayed other places and this is the best and where we have stayed the last 5 or so times we went to OC. The location is perfect. If you check out the pictures on line, you will see what I mean. Plus they have redone the rooms so it should be even better this year. There is a kitchenette with stovetop, microwave, small fridge, and coffee pot. You could park your car and never have to get back in it until you are ready to leave, if you wish. And call the hotel directly to book - don't do it online or on the website. check out their website and put your dates in to get an idea of the cost, then call the front desk staff and ask them if they can do better than that. I have saved over $200 by doing that in the past.
