June in Boston or Falmouth

We have visited both places before and we are coming out for about 3 weeks.

So far we have a week in cape cod, a few days in Rhode Island/ Mystic and some more in Boston.

We are debating forgetting Boston and having another week in Falmouth.

Would that be a good idea?

We have seen the main tourist things in Boston before.

How easy is it to go on a shopping day on the train to Boston from Falmouth? I do not want to drive in Boston, so I thought the train would be fairly straighforward

Hi, there is no train to Boston from Falmouth, you would need to take a bus. They run basically all day & in to the evening, so it will be pretty easy to do. I think 2 weeks on Cape Cod is a great idea as you have already visited Boston. From Falmouth, you can also easily take a daytrip to Martha's Vineyard.

I second that. Lots to do and see on the Cape.

I do two weeks on the Cape each year, but I do love the city, too. Too bad we don't have a crystal ball to predict the weather exactly ... because if coolish or wet weather were a given, then I'd do Boston, but if it's hot, I'd prefer the Cape!!!

I'm of NO HELP AT ALL --- lol!!!

I think cape cod for more time too!

I shall email the lady with the house and ask for an extra week.

Two weeks in Falmouth, I bet you'll be looking for something to do after a while.

You could take a day-trip to Newport, Rhode Island. Walking along America's Cup Ave is great; many, many small shops filled with all sorts of stuff. And a tour of one of the Newport mansions is awe-inspiring. (It's hard to believe there really were people who lived that lifestyle.) And if you are a yachtsman, the Herreshoff Marine Museum/America's Cup Hall of Fame is pretty good, too.

Traffic in Newport proper in the summer is absolutely horrendous. Drive to the Newport Transportation Center and park, then walk or take the Newport Trolley (narrated tours) and you won't have to worry about negotiating the narrow streets.

Cheers,

Harry
