Public transportation --NEW YORK CITY to LENOX Ma

We [ two seniors] wish to travel [ with three pieces of hold luggage and two pieces of hand luggage] during the day on 12 August from NYC to Lenox as quickly as possible without having to offload and reload our baggage. The train journey seems to require two changes of train unless one goes NYC to Albany by train and then by bus to Lenox. All the journeys seem quite complicated - Any ideas, please?

The quickest way would be to drive. That said, there is a greyhound bus that goes to Lenox that has 1 transfer. I am not familiar with train to bus transfers in Albany to know whether it is any better.

Is it possible to ship you luggage separately to your destination? If not, there should be people who can help with the transfers. I just found a website that may be of assistance.

Bonanza Bus (Peter Pan) has direct bus service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to Lenox.
