Capt Johns Deep Sea Fishing

We went yesterday deep sea fishing on Capt Johns and would never go again. The staff was disgruntled and not helpful. Our first stop everyone caught dogfish and threw them back. That was the most activity we saw it was so overcrowded we spent the day untangling lines and moving from site to site. Our boat was sold out and only 5 fish were caught.

Then to make matters worse when we landed the crew came around looking for tips while the captain hid inside.

When we researched the trips we noticed that Capt Johns was half the price of similar trips out of Point Judith i guess you get what you pay for

Unfortunately this is not uncommon on "party" boats at popular times, no matter what company you go with. The only real way to avoid it is to do a private charter at a much higher price per person. Also a few "party boat' companies, such as Yankee Fleet out of Gloucester, have now started to offer limited capacity trips at a higher cost.
