There are busses to Provincetown (Plymouth and Brockton Company), but the best bet a is a ferry run by Boston Harbor Cruises.

Here's that link:

The ferry to Provincetown is a passenger ferry; no cars!

You can get here by car, bus, ferry or by air. You don't really need a car when you are here so most people will take the ferry or fly on Cape Air.

Cape Air is 25 minutes from Boston to Provincetown, the ferry is about 90 minutes.

I just took the ferry yesterday. It is very pleasant. Super comfortable seats and a full bar. The bartender made a really fun cocktail with pineapple juice and malibu rum. The ride was 90 mins and was very scenic and was about $50 on Baystate Cruises. Taking Cape Air back, which is super convenient. Not sure of buses but I would avoid because the traffic can be unbearable.

Sounds like the perfect day, Phillysilver! (and a pretty good drink too!)

I would like to go to Cape Cod for a night while in Boston mid October. It appears that all the ferries stop after October 11th. Is the only other option bus or to fly? Thanks

Boston Harbor Cruises ends on October 11th and Bay State Cruises ends on October 13th.

So after the 13th your options are to drive, fly on Cape Air or take the Plymouth-Brockton bus line.
