Romantic winter overnight - where to stay, what to do?

I'm surprising my wife this weekend (I know, it's last-minute) with a brief, one-night getaway in Williamstown, North Adams (or somewhere 1-2 hours from Hartford CT). Any suggestions on places to stay and what to do? Mass MoCA is on the list!

Many thanks!

Rick

I hope that the Clark Institute is on the list too. That would be the biggest attraction in the area.

Yes, do NOT miss the Clark. But I seriously love Mass MoCA, which is nearby but not in Williamstown. You can walk around the Williams campus, too.

Thank you both! From the reviews, it looks like Journey's End is a good place to stay. Others look good, too: River Bend Farm, and The Inn on Main Street or Blackinton Manor in North Adams. Any recommendations among these or others?

The Porches is what comes to my mind too, although I've never been there.

The previously mentioned Clark and Mass MoCa are great calls. Williamstown College has a nice art museum that is free and well worth visiting.

As an aside, North Adams is going through some rough economic times with many stores and shops empty. Williamstown may be a nicer choice for a hotel/B&B.

Also, I sent you a list of things to do in the Berkshires via message center that I hope you find helpful.
