Treetops resort area in michigan

Please give any information regarding restaurants. We are staying at the Treetops resort for two nights. Anything local or in vicinity for dinner or lunch?

Depends if you want casual or a little nicer.

Casual, but good Paul's Pub, 10 miles to the east on M-32 in Johannesburg. It's a little Pub with good burgers, fried fish, salads. We enjoy it there.

Also Alpine Tavern, on Old-27 south in downtown Gaylord, at the corner of M-32 www.alpineoven.com

You can sit street-side on the patio if you like.

Still casual, but a little higher-end, Bennethum's, south of Gaylord a few miles. They have burgers, steaks and lots of fish. It used to be the old Schlang's Restaurant, on Old 27 south. http://www.bennethums.com/menu.cfm

I've always had great meals in the Pontresina Steakhouse at Otsego Club...pretty formal though. Otsego Club is on the way to Treetops, you can't miss it. otsegoclub.com/dining/pontresina-steakhouse.…

The Sugar Bowl is a landmark Gaylord restaurant, I've had hit or miss meals there but overall quite good...I'm pretty picky and I keep going back, so something must be right. Menu is Greek/American and there's a casual family dining room and a more upscale, formal dining room. Located right downtown, East of I-75 on the North side of the street. http://www.gaylordblog.com/?p=90

I've heard good things about the Stampede Saloon but haven't had a chance to try it out. It's kind of a western themed saloon, on Old 27 about a mile West of I-75. http://www.stampedesaloon.com/

Hope you have a great trip!

Deadhead is right about Otsego Club restaurants. Beautiful grounds and view also. Pontresina is higher-priced but the Duck Blind Grille is more casual and lower-priced. Otsego Club would be good as it's close to Treetops.

Stampede Saloon has a very friendly staff and wonderful burgers. It's right next door to Bennethum's Northern Inn. You may want to avoid Wednesday nights though as it's "Bike Night".

Well, went to Alpine Tavern last night and although the food was pretty good, there were other issues, service, cleanliness.... Need to improve the management possibly.

I'd probably give it another try, maybe down the road, but for now, I'd try elsewhere.
