Nightlife ideas

I am traveling to K'zoo in mid January with my 3 sisters to celebrate a 40th birthday. We are looking for a nice bar for hanging out in: nothing too loud or too young (we range in age from 40-47), maybe with some live music. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We are also looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. Not too fancy. Just good food and fun.

Hi. There are a number of good bars and restaurants in downtown Kalamazoo. I generally am in the area only for lunch, but I have noticed that many do have entertainment in the evenings. Here is a link to dining info:

If you don't hear anything from others on TA, you might try calling the Tourism office for more info. There has also been a list generated of 269 Cool Things to Do which you can also check out:

269 is the area code for K-zoo and the area. If you want to visit a couple of nearby wineries, Paw Paw at exit 60 off I-94 has St Julian's and Warner's right off the expressway. If you're there for lunch on a weekend, try Bistro 120. Good luck and happy holidays! BB

Oh my gosh, where are the locals... I know they would heartily recommend Monaco Bay Piano Bar... perfect for your group. Food, alcohol and great music, is there anything else?? :)

If you want more places, i will check back, I know there are some other options downtown, but this IMO is the best one over all. My son went to school here, we tried a bunch of different places.
