Rent a horse and buggy. Rent bikes and ride around the island (keep the water to your left - it's an easier ride if you travel clockwise.) Tour the fort. Visit Arch Rock. Take a walk in the moonlight along the shore.

I highly recommend you drive up to Charelvoix and then take 31 up along Lake Michigan, maybe spending a bit of time in Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and then take M-119 to Cross Village, then head to Mackinaw City. It is a lovely drive, gorgeous scenery, lots of little shops, roadside parks, lakes and whatnot.

I loved eating lunch, after touring fort, in the restaurant that is located right in the fort-The Tea Room. Gorgeous views, you cannot beat the view. Basic food choices, but all was good.

You should tour the Grand Hotel if you like history, architecture etc., but it does cost $10/person to enter the hotel. You can tour the grounds/gardens for free, though.
