Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island

Hi

We are visiting the area for two nights in a few weeks. Planning to hit Mackinac Island the second day there.

But also looking for dining suggestions both in Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. And things suggested for sure we should do.

Thanks

kathy

need more details on your interests....

but in the meantime, the big thing to do on the island is to ride bikes around the 8 mile perimeter of the island... it can be done in less than 2 hours at a VERY leisurely pace.... there are several rental places on the island close to the ferry docks.... kinda pricey for rental, but it's a great way to cover a lot of ground...

My favorite restaurants in Mackinaw City are Darrow's Family Restaurant, Scalawag's Whitefish & Chips, and the Key Hole Bar. For someplace a little nicer, the Chippewa Room at Audie's.

On the Island, I like The Woods, Yankee Rebel Tavern and Pink Pony. The view from the Tea Room a t Fort Mackinac can not be beat, and the lunch buffet at the Grand Hotel is a special (if pricey) experience.

Thanks all. Definitely have bikes on the agenda for the island. Is there anything in Mackinaw City or on the Island that you would tell a first time visitor not to miss?

Two lighthouses. Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse next to the Bridge and the free, McGulpin Point Light on the west side.

I would also drive over the bridge during your visit.

On the island don't miss the pumpkin fudge! I don't know who sells it, but it's the best! We like Nonna Lisa's for pizza in the city.
