Chez Bru and Eygalieres

We're considering staying for a few nights in Eygalieres as our base. Has anyone had experience with the rooms above the Bistrot on rue de la republique? Is Eygalieres a nice village to stay in? We mainly want less tourists and some (good) places to eat...

While the Bistrot d'Eygalieres, "Chez Brut," is a wonderful restaurant (Michelin has awarded it **'s) , you need to keep in mind that it is primarily a restaurant, and that there are only a small number of rooms. That having been said, Eygalieres is well situated for exploring ALL of Western Provence, and there are quite a number of places to enjoy really good food in the area..

I like Eygalieres but it is fast becomming "discovered" but a nice place to stay.

Chez Bru is an expensive restaurant to eat at. Also look at Sous Les Micocouliers in the same village for a restaurant.

Two other alternatives are the Mas du Capoun in nearby Molleges. Not such a pretty village but it is a nice restaurant with simple rooms. The Auberge du Parc in Orgon is also a good base to explore the area.

Have fun.

Bistrot d'Eygalieres Chex Bru is now a bistro, it doesn't have any Michelin stars, though you might think otherwise looking at the prices. The rooms are fine for a stay and Eygalieres is a very beautiful village.

Maison Bru is located outside the village between Eygalieres and Orgon, it is mega expensive to stay, the restaurant is now 1 star Michelin, very expensive IMO not worth the money...............see what the french think of it on T/A.

I'd give the Auberge du Parc a miss, Orgon is not the place to be.
