Large Family Reunion

We're looking for a large (or two large, adjacent) homes or condos in the Saugatuck or South Haven area for a family reunion in July 2007. Would like something on or near a beach, preferably with a pool. Any ideas?

I can't say how this place is from personal experience as I have not stayed here, but this was a place that I found while looking for a place for a large family vacation:

Also, the State of Michigan has a great travel site, which is where I originally found the above:

Currently the link is for South Haven Cabin/Cottages accomodations. To look at another city, select "Select Another City" or to look at other types of accomodations such as Condos select "Condos & Rentals".

In the past we have used the greatrentals website and vrbo.com for booking rentals. I have no personal experience with any of these properties but on great rentals the following may meet your needs:

Not sure how large the homes would need to be; if you check both Saugatuck and South Haven on vrbo you'll find that some of the cottages are actually in Glenn, which is right between the two towns. There are a few associations in Glenn with beach access; friends of mine own a cottage with unusually easy access (you can drive up to the beach, more or less, unlike most places around here that have lots of steps). They might be able to direct you to other rentals in the same association? http://www.vrbo.com/15530.

Other friends own this one in a different association: http://www.vrbo.com/65791

There's a house in Saugatuck called the Lynn-Lee and I believe the owners own the house next door to it, too. There are a number of rental homes 'on the hill' in Saugatuck (admittedly, including mine!) that would be within a block or less of each other if you got two houses. I'm sure there are cases where there are two homes next door as well.

FYI, if you're *in* the towns of Saugatuck, Douglas or South Haven you should be pretty close to a beach (5 minute drive).

Oh, if a pool is especially important, you might want to consider renting a few condos side by side. Several in Saugatuck, maybe check saugatuck.com and click on lodging.
