Restaurant suggestions

Our trip plans are set for South Haven in October. We stopped by this charming town 2 years ago for lunch at Clementine's. Would appreciate any other dining suggestions and also for Saugatuck.

Thanks so much!

there is another thread a few down on so haven dining recommendations that is worth a look....lots of ideas....

personally i stick w phoenix inn for breakfast, clems, tellos, or hawkshead for dinner....

my kids love the pizza at vineyard (although the atmosphere is dank & don't try the pasta!!)

in the summer bearclaw coffee has frozen lattes and free wifi....julias & the in town bakery have great coffee...

shermans out by the highway has wonderful ice cream....if you don't want the huge scoops but just a taste stop by the michigan theatre....same stuff for a buck in a little ice cream cup!! the chocolate cafe has some decadent desserts & i love that that dip the fork in a river of chocolate to add the the experience....

also love a beer in the hot sun at capt lous at the drawbridge....and my fav lunch is a handmade sandwich at north shore deli around the corner taken to packard park on north shore drive....dining al fresco at its finest (and a good deal at 6 bucks for sandwich & side!!

Rono,

More great suggestions! We ate at a great breakfast spot in Douglas 2 years ago. I wonder if it was Everyday's People Cafe?

We did get our trip set---finally! Staying at Michimonmac's and Lake Shore Resort in Saugatuck.

Thanks for all your helpful and informative suggestions along the way!

Fingers crossed here for good weather. Ida Reds is good for breakfast in Saugatuck, and I don't think EDP do breakfast. Maybe Calico Kitchen?

i come up every october and have spent many an autumn day on the beach (sometimes in a sweatshirt huddled behind a dune but hey!!) the town quiets down and you really get a feel for the beauty of the lake!! bring a kite & frisbee & you have hours of entertainment.....and they allow dogs back on the beach which is fun to watch....

have a ball!!

Thanks Rono and Flizzer for good weather wishes and suggested beach fun. A kite is a great idea and we LOVE dogs so would be fun to watch them play on the beach.

We are really getting excited about the trip. Michigan is my favorite state---next to Fl. And it is #1 because it's a good spot in the cold winter months. :)

Next winter Provo so hope to chat with Rono more about that trip later.

Meantime, Rono have a great time on your trip too!

Thanks!
