Breakfast? European First Timers-Ideas?

We are bringing our German friends( 65 and 68 YO) for June 4 weekend. Staying at Hampton as it was last minute situation. Any ideas for a nice breakfast place ( Yes we know the Hamptons serves "breakfast" but were hoping for something more!)? We are praying for sunshine, and wanted to show them what a small American town looks like and stroll the beach. Is there still that bar just past the bridge? Thought dinner at Clementines. Any other ideas....they speak zero English but they do know how to say "bier" and we want to introduce them to that Michigan delicacy known as perch.

Thanks!! Vielen Dank!

Phoenix Street Inn, downtown SH is the fav place for most people for breakfast. The bar just past the bridge is Capt. Lou's, a fun place. Also try the IDLER RIVERBOAT for a very fun place. Go to teh SH visitor website for more info on all things SH .....http://www.southhaven.org/...please let us know where you went and how it was :)...have a great time !

Phoenix Street Cafe does have good breakfast, but the service is pretty terrible. Try Captain Nemo's on Phoenix St., or 2 Chicks or Cousins'. Both of those are on Blue Star Hwy.

Captain Nemo's for their hash browns deluxe, YUM! and following breakfast you can take the short walk "down the hill" along the river and out to the pier.

i vote phoenix inn...geez i go constantly and never had bad service...pancake lovers try the oatmeal cakes...yum!! Capt lous is a great place for a beer in the sun...for perch i'd go with Clementines....or Hawkshead if that's on the menu....they're out of town but worth the drive...

thanks. We tried both Phoenix and El Capitan Nemo and preferred Phoenix. Great service, very fast and good quality food. Had the perch at Clemintines but as usual a very long wait and ended up seated in the way back with not much atmosphere. Prefer the bar area. Otherwise, decent quality perch at reasonable prices.
