looking to stay in June 2013! help!

Planning a 4 person adult trip.. Wondering if traverse city is worth the 8 hour drive? We plan on going June 20th and staying for 3 nights but i have never been there and need to know where the best place to stay would be? Would like to be on the beach and close to other activities and nothing to pricey. Would like to stay around 200 or so a night. The cheaper the better :) also what are some fun things to do? We are in our mid to late twenties if that helps.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would absolutely recommend the Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor-it has so much to offer-from the spa or beauty shop, breakfast grab and go or wonderful dining (Nonna) on the grounds. Professionals are available that can help you with your golf game, a day on the Lake, or tubing the Crystal River, fishing lessons from Orvis, whatever you want-they make it happen-In my opinion this is the ONLY place to stay-its about 1/2 hr from Traverse City, Leelanau, Suttons Bay-all great shopping, wine tasting, casino (2) its a great fun time-family friendly.

This is my 3rd summer at Traverse City. I live in Michigan. Re-booking the Beach Haus again. Love it.

On the beach. Not fancy. Less expensive. I would rather be on the beach than have to cross the road. Road is very busy. Traverse city is wine country. Lots of winery's. Lots of good restaurants. Some are expensive and some are not. There is an old hospital remodeled and now various shops. The mall is just a mall. It's big but just a mall. Olive garden out that way and the chain stores like Kohls. Hotel rates go up to summer rates about 20th June.

Beach haus is located

1489 US 31 North Shore Drive. TC 49686

The gps doesn't pick up the address. Probably actually not Traverse City with GPS. Just North of the AAA office. phone 231-947-3560.

Early June about $80.00 with 2 double beds for the two of my party. per night.

And - as I said it's not for everyone. With following the reviews if you want a cool flat screen tv - this hotel is not for you. I actually discovered this treasure on Trip Advisor. I travel with friend. Herman is my posting name. My name is Diane and I'm 60. If you just want to chill out with a hotel this hotel is for you.

I'm a beach person. And this year will discover the winery trips.

Island View Cottages...walking distance to downtown TC, casual rustic..beach frontage on the Bay. Hope you have your wine Fest tickets already as they are sold out. Cottages located near base of Old Mission Peninsula is you need more wine!
