MSP baggage claim question

IS MSP one of those airports that's slow with the bags? Should I carry my bag on or will I be able to get it fast if I check it? (United AL)

I've gotten it fast and I've gotten it slow. It really depends on factors other than the specific airport. Airline, quality of workers, flight traffic, etc.

I always carry on when I can anyway. It's always less convenient on the plane but makes up for it when you don't have to stand there like a chimp waiting for a banana at the baggage claim.

Nice part is, if you do go through baggage claim, the pickup area is just out the dorr from the carousels.

Thanks. I'm not at all familiar with that airport. Like you, I try to carry my bag onboard as often as possible both because of time and because of fear of lost luggage but sometimes it's just not convenient.

How far from the airport is the car rental area?

Check out this pdf map. You'll find the car rental symbol toward the bottom (just above the legend. It's a level up from the baggage claim.

Minneapolis is average.

Several airports I've been too where it's notoriously slow.

Minneapolis is not one of them.

Baggage claim is one floor below arrivals.

Car rental is one floor below Baggage Claim - and take the tram briefly.

It's not bad.

The Palm Springs airport is the worst.

I'm originally from MN and its seems that every-time I fly home they inevitably lose my bags so I would try to bring a carry on.
