Light shopping and a good dinner options for a weekend?

I will be in Minneapolis for 2 weeks on Oct. Will have a free weekend in the middle. What are the options for some shopping and few good dinners. Will be mostly staying in one of the downtown hotels. Thanks!

Since you are in downtown..you have to shop at Nicollet Mall. There is a Target there and several restaurants. Including Brits

I agree...if you are shopping for clothing, then browse downtown. there are several department stores, budget stores, and specialty stores - all right there.

There is no "mall" shopping per se in downtown Minneapolis. If you really want to see a MALL, take the light rail to the Mall of America.

There are several department stores and a small number of independent stores downtown. There is a TJMAXX and Target for discount shopping.

There are tons of great restaurants downtown and you should have no problem finding places to eat.

Actually, there is no TJ Maxx (it closed), there is a Marshall's in the City Center though. There's also the Saks Off 5th, and Neiman Marcus is still open - check out their outlet top floor. Len is a very popular clothing store in City Center, and Brooks Brothers & Macy's is right there also.

This is not a clothing store and is not downtown, but the Ikea next to the Mall of America is quite the shopping experience if you've never been to one. If you're going to the Mall of America, you could easily make it to Ikea.
