Biloxi-beach, casino, and restaurants

My husband and I will be traveling to Biloxi next week. Haven't been there for 13 years when our daughter was in tech school at Keesler. How are the casinos? Beaches? Are many restaurants open? We will be staying at the Grand Casino. Is it nice? Would apprecaite any comments.

Hi, firelady!

Most of the casinos are up and running, again, though some have been modified. In Biloxi, there is the Palace, the Imperial Palace, Boomtown, Isle of Capri, Biloxi Grand, and Beau Rivage. In Gulport, there is the Island View and I forget if the Treasure Bay is in Biloxi or Gulfport. We haven't been to Boomtown or Treassure Bay since before Katrina, but have recently visited the others. The Beau Rivage is by far the most elegant of the casinos, but we find we seldom win there. The Biloxi Grand is one of our favorite's and we have had some luck on their slots. I particulary like the Island View in Gulfport. They have just expanded their playing area and have a lot of the newer machines.

All of the casinos have a variety of eating places. There are a few other places to eat, but many of the big restaurants were destroyed and haven't come back, yet. I know I saw a couple of Waffle Houses open.

Each time we have gone, we have seen people in the gulf; however, I believe they are still advising not to go in because of the storm debris that is still in the area.

I think you will be happy with your stay at the Grand. Write a report and let us know.

We stayed at the Grand in March we liked the Casino and the room was nce. The beach looks good but signs say not to get in, but people do anyway. The workers at the Grand are very friendly.
