Beach and other questions

I'm coming to Biloxi on 9/15 for the first time in about 12 years. Is the Grand on the Gulf? And, if so, is there any beach access? I stayed years and years ago at the President and the beach wasn't so good plus it was across the highway. I don't recall where much is located. Is Beau Rivage near the Grand? Any other casinos or clubs in walking distance of the Grand? I'm looking forward to enjoying a couple nights here before going on to a convention - any info is appreciated! Just don't suggest I stay somewhere else because my rooms are comps.

The Grand is not on the Gulf and there is no beach access from it. There used to be but now they have construction for another casino they were going to build but stopped worked on it. There is a casino shuttle that will take you to the other casinos which are all pretty much within a 5 minute drive with the exception of Treasure Bay and Island View. The Beau Rivage is close to the Grand but not walking distance. The beaches are beautiful and there are Casino Resorts with beach access. If you take a drive down Beach Blvd. there are plenty of places to park and go to the beach. You will see chair rentals and jet ski rentals and that sort of thing.

Claudia - Thank you for the info. I guess that leaves my sunbathing time to the pool.....assuming they have an outdoor pool. Or, are there any good public access places at the beach that offer restrooms and perhaps a food and/or drink vendor? And, I enjoy having a couple of mimosas while lying in the sand - - are the local authorities extremely strict on the no alcohol policy or can one usually get by ok by using a cup and not advertising the fact that there is alcohol in it?

I'm trying not to be negative about it but I've had two trips already this summer that I structured around being at the beach a couple days and it rained both times.....all my questions may be for nothing! Lol, that's the way it goes sometimes!

Leo Girl.............I love the MS Gulf Coast but it does not compare to the AL Gulf Coast at Gulf Shores. I would consider a visit there because most of the condo's are on the beach with great pools. The beach and ocean there is nicer than the MS Gulf Coast which is protected by barrier islands that cause less waves than you have in AL/FL. If you like casino's you will like the MS Gulf Coast. Good luck.

Thank you - - I'm stopping off in Biloxi mainly for play but thought I'd try to get a little R & R as well as kicking up my tan a notch. I have to be at Perdido Beach Resort that Saturday for a few days but there won't be much beach time.

I'll just hope for an outdoor pool at The Grand.

Thanks for your info -

The Grand has an outdoor pool and the entire beach is public, unlike some other vacation destinations. There are very nice new "comfort stations" along Highway 90 as well, which offer clean restrooms and showers. CTA buses also stop at these stations, so if you are riding the bus, they would drop you off right there. Enjoy your time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!
