I graduated from Ole Miss. My wife and son went to OM. It's a great school. You will be impressed after your first visit. Oxford is a great town and kids love it. There's an old town Square where all the restaurants, shops and bars are located. William Faulkner's home is down the street. There are beautiful homes in Oxford and a lot of great restaurants. Eli Manning played football at OM and makes Oxford his off season home. John Grisham has a home there also. The OM campus is beautiful. There's a 10 acre Grove on the campus near the stadium where people tailgate before all the football games. They just built a new $70 million law school building and more improvements are planned.
It's not hard to get to MS either. Fly from LA to Memphis non stop and drive an hour S to Oxford. There's a nice Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Oxford but you might want to stay at The Inn at Ole Miss which was completed a few years ago and it's on campus. Here's a link. A great B&B is 512 Van Buren which is two blocks from the Square.

Go to Square Books for fun shopping. There are great ladie's stores on the Square. Go to City Grocery for fine dining or Lenora's. Go to Ajax's for country food. Handy Andy has good BBQ and burgers or breakfast.
