Ballys blackjack/odd sign at tables

Just got back from a quick visit to Tunica. I chose to play at Ballys because I was looking for a cheap doubledeck game with good odds (Ballys has that game at the $15 level). There was a sign on all of the blackjack tables saying that discussion of hands or showing of cards was forbidden. Strange. I've probably played in 100 casinos coast to coast and I've never seen a rule like that. Are there any other casinos that enforce this rule? Fortunately they weren't too strict about it because there were a couple of newbies at the table who needed basic strategy advice and the rest of the table was happy to help.

Also, I only averaged $20 a hand this trip for four hours. Will that be enough to generate weeknight offers at Ballys? I wasn't overly impressed with the place, but it would be a suitable place for a quick getaway to Memphis from Indianapolis. Thanks!

The last time we went to Bally's we noticed those signs as well. That was at least a couple of years ago as we haven't been back to Bally's since then. It is is odd and I've never seen that anywhere else either. That said, Ballys is affiliated with the Resorts Casino in Tunica (at least my player's card lists them both). They may have the same policies as well. We've only been in there once and weren't impressed.

I would think you'd get offers from Ballys. Sometimes they run very inexpensive offers on rooms. We've never stayed there and I hear not great things about their hotel. I would think all the properties will be vying for the Harrahs business come Monday.

I have stayed there a few times. The rooms are nice. Nothing fancy but clean and nice. They do have a jacuzzi tube and. Microwave and coffee pot in each room. The hotel is on the non riverside of the Levi as you may have seen but they shuttle you free to and from the casino. They use to have easy comps for the rooms but a new company bought Ballys and Resorts recently ( last couple of years) and the offers I use to get stopped. If you do get one booked quickly because completion from Harrahs customers will be high. Also you can walk across the Levi to Roadhouse, Horseshoe and Gold Strike, have fun
