I think a car is really needed. I haven't meet a person who has visited Branson without it. I think you may get a better response on the www.1branson.com forums, http://www.1branson.com/forum/ .

There are taxis available and the strip and landing areas are great places to walk around. If you are going to be staying near the strip, you may be okay.

Definitely better if you have a car available to drive. Have you considered renting a car? Maybe the Clarion will have a shuttle running to some of the places you want to visit. ??????

I thought the Clarion is the hotel by the Grand Palace so they are on the strip. But the strip is so long, walking the entire strip would be difficult. I have been going to Branson for over 30 years, and while there are taxi's, I could count the number I've seen on both hands.

You might post some questions on the www.1branson.com website. There are many local people from Branson on that chat board who may have some answers for you. We always drive to Branson - so it has never occured to me to look for a cab or car for hire. I know that some of the resorts have transportation to different shows. I am going to Branson next week again and will make a note to look for public transportation!

We got back from Branson last night and I was keeping watch on where and how many cabs I saw. I did see a cab at the Branson landing area. A couple of vans for hire were noticed along the 76 strip and alternate routes. The one transport company I did notice more than once was Grayline tours. There were small busses/vans thaty maybe hold around 20? people that we saw a few times. I did see that they have a web address so that might come in handy for you.
