Best Scuba Diving on Table Rock Lake?

We are taking our young adult children to Branson in June 2011. Can anyone recommend a scuba diving company? Recommend any other things to do? They like outdoor activities.

Also, how has the recent weather and flooding affected Branson?

Thanks for your help!

I’ve never dived but I’ve had guests dive going through the State Park Marina next to Table Rock Dam. I even had one lady in her 70’s or 80’s go. Not me. I’m chicken. They used to take you over to dive where the town was before the dam was built. Yes, there is a town in Table Rock Lake. Different residents now. Changed to all fish. :) The road over the dam was closed for mud slide repairs but it has reopened so you don’t have to circle around to get to the marina. Some marina's are still doing dock repairs but the State Park Marina, along with several others are open. Branson did not flood but some of the homes & resorts along the shorelines were damaged but these were only the one's in the lowest elevations.. Some docks were also damaged due to the high water, debris & currents. Branson Landing didn't even close even though it is built low and on the Lake Taneycomo bank. Most tourists didn't even realize their was any problems during the "flood' unless they wanted to be on the lakes. With all the debris and the dock cables stressed, lake activity dropped. The Landing’s fountains for the free fire and water show are full of mud and are currently waiting repairs. The lakes are still very full so additional releases may be required this summer. If they are having a water release from the spillway your during your trip, your diving may be postponed. Contact the marina for accurate details.

Dogwood Canyon S of Branson in Lampe would be a good stop. Unfortunately, with it’s streams, ponds, and waterfall, it is currently closed due to flooding. With the high water you’ll have to contact them to see if they are open when you go. The parks have great hiking (most challenging is Buisek N of Branson), take on a zip line ride, check out the Medieval Castle in AR. For more lake fun, rent a boat, go para sailing, kayaking, swimming, or skiing. Ride the Spirit at the State Park Marina. Several top notch golf courses are around or if no one golfs, hit the balls at a mini golf course instead. How about go carts or if any one likes to swing around in the air, they can do that too. If they like rides, head out to Silver Dollar City. Stay for the free evening outdoor show. Make sure they take the hike through Marvel Cave. Free with your admission. Go to the outdoor show at Shepherd of the Hills. We like the boat rides on the Landing. We get a drink at the bar and head upstairs to sit outside on the Lake Queen paddle boat. We like it much better than riding the Ducks. For extra water fun beside a regular pool, head to White Water or a cheaper priced trip to the Rec Plex.

Even though they like to be outdoors, you may want to check into some of the indoor activities too. Lots to do for all ages. Review the past posts to see what you think they may be interested in.
