What to do in Branson for 3-4 days with kids age 7 & 8?

I am planning a trip to Branson the first week of October, with kids (boys) age 7 & 8. This is our first trip to Branson. Are activities still open the first week of October? Any input/recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Well, first of al there is silver dollar city, It is open every day except monday's and tuesdays in October. The weather should be really nice by then , And make silver dollar more fun.

White water and celebration city are closed down by then for the year. Then there is the Branson Belle river boat cruise...It is on Table rock lake and features a cruise, lunch and a show...The lunch show is the cheapest and has a really good magician. It is loads of fun...

There is a restaurant called the hard luck diner that is a 50's style diner that features a wait staff made upof aspiring singers. They will serve you and sing to you at the same time...One of the singers was in the top 44 on american idol the year carrie underwood won.

It is located on the strip in the grand village shopping center, next to the grand palace theater.

And as far as a good place to stay , there is a hotel that gives you free admission to the indoor water park in branson.

It's called the grand country inn, it has a pizza buffet and a bigger buffet on the complex with the hotel and water park.

Or if you want a goos cheap hotel, there are a couple that have good breakfast included in the price and are really clean and gets great reviews.

Both come with a 20 item breakfast and ice cream and cobbler and cookies in the evenings.

Then there is the new branson landing shopping area that is on the banks of lake taneycomo in downtown branson, it features good shopping like build a bear and restaurants like garfields and Joes crab shack.

And they might like the ride the ducks, it tours the lake and parts of the town..

hope this gives you somewhere to start.

Agree with the recommendation for Grand Country Inn! 7 & 8 yr olds will love it! Would also recommend Dixie Stampede for a combination dinner/show. A little pricey, but not that bad considering you get a meal with the ticket price. The observation tower at Shepherd of the Hills will also be entertaining to them, as would the Branson Balloon! For free entertainment, take them to the trout hatchery at Tablerock Dam and let them feed the fish, all sizes from fingerlings to large fish. The Conservation Department also has a building there with a large aquarium, nature exhibits and a free movie that will hold their attention! They will probably get the chance to drive the "Duck" once it 'hits' the waters of Tablerock! We have taken our grandsons to Branson several times, and it's not hard to keep them entertained there! Have a great time!.
