sunday brunch

ok, we have booked our trip to KC for Aug. 12-14 through delta vacations. Awesome site...for husband and I..got air fare from cincinnati..two nights at westin (with king non-smoking).. and three days car rental for a little over $700. Air fare alone is $303 a piece....Anyway, we would like advice on Sunday Brunch other than the westin. $23pp is a bit pricey in my opinion. I can eat but not that much...As mentioned we will have a car and will head out to City Market or Jesse James home afterward so anywhere not to far away is an option. Thanks in advance...

You night want to try the Ameristar Casino, or one of the other Kansas City casinos. They have enormous brunch buffets set up for every taste and at very reasonable prices. Look them up on-line. The Casinos are fun to see anyway. I haven't gambled, but I still enjoy going.

Tomfolleries (on the plaza) has a good brunch in a casual atmosphere. Its around $15.

Union Cafe, which is in Union Station, also has a Sunday Brunch. Its attached to the Westin by a Skywalk. I'm not sure of the cost, but it might be worth checking out. Their number is 816-300-2233

If you want to skip brunch and just have breakfast, eat where the midtown locals eat. I would recommend the following:

Sharps - located in the Brookside neighborhood about 15 minutes straight south of downtown. Busy, busy on Sunday morning.

Mamma Bells on 39th Street is also extremely popular. Located at 1726 W 39th St (just 10 minutes south of downtown and in the middle of 39th street resteraunt row)

I second Tomfooliers, I went to college in KC and everytime my parents came into town, it was the place to go for brunch. Even now, when I go to visit my friends in KC, I still eat brunch at Tomfooliers. Love It!
