Eating near the fabulous fox

I am taking my twenty year old twin daughters to the fox theater and am looking for place to eat nearby before the 1:00 show. Any suggestions?

Blondie's Coffee and Wine Bar on Washington Avenue is a cute little place to go that isn't far. Not walking distance though, if that's what you're looking for. Most places in walking distance aren't good, IMO.

Actually there are some solid choices nearby: Scottish Arms (off Forest Park Parkway, a 5 minute drive), and within a six block radius:

Pappys, Good Pie, Triumph Grill, Fountain on Locust, Plush, Vito's, Cafe Ventana, The Shack. Double check hours, of course: Not all will be open on Sunday, but I know many of these are.

Some top rated places very close:

Pappy's - rated #1 BBQ in STL

The Shack - right on SLU campus - younger, burger, sandwich, craft beer

place - college crowd

Vitos' - good Pizza and Italian

Good Pie - moved to UCity (not an option)

Dooley's - ok going on past name when downtown, a little rundown already

City Diner - OK - on corner next to The Fox, very crowded before shows

Your kids will get a kick out of The Fountain On Locust - an art deco themed ice cream restaurant with excellent food.

Another choice is The Field House. A huge sports bar that is popular with SLU students.
