East Glacier or Big Fork?

Will be traveling through and need to stop one night at one or the other. If we stop at East Glacier, we will have time to explore the area in the afternoon; if we stay in Big Fork, we will have time to explore that area in the morning. Is one area more picturesque, have better eating places, have more scenic views to enjoy, ... ? We don't do much hiking, but love to take photos.

Also, by then we will have driven from west to east across GTTS Rd., so would it be more scenic to drive back across from east to west (though it takes longer), or catch different views and travel around the southern part of GNP on Hwy 2?

Any suggestions?

PS Sorry - just realized i posted this in the Bozeman forum. Will post in East Glacier (if there is one).
