Trip route: two days from Many Glacier to Missoula

Hi! Can you help us with a trip route from Many Glacier down to Missoula?

We forgot our passports so instead of going to Canada we are going to amble from

MG Lodge back to Missoula. I want to see the Blackfeet Museum that is somewhere near here (the lodge) and then head south. We've done the park for five days so no need to do more on this trip.

We'd like a nice place to stay somewhere between the Lodge and Missoula and then we'll possibly overnight in Missoula one night.

Thx for suggestions.

So you're going to Browning?

If so, it makes more sense to go down the eastern slope and then head west. Boulder Hot Springs, Helena or Butte would make good overnights in that case.

You've got lots of great options for a scenic trip between Many Glacier and Missoula. Here's two more:

From MG, head southwest towards Bigfork. From there, chose either the Swan Highway, Hwy 82, going down through Swan Lake and Seely Lake, then to Missoula. Consider an overnight at the Laughing Horse Lodge, for an unforgettably good meal and true MT hospitality. You could spend a whole day exploring Swan Lake and the trails in that area, and you're only a short drive from the charming town of Bigfork.

Or, take the drive through the town of Bigfork, down the eastshore of Flathead Lake to Polson, then continue on down to Missoula. There's another Native American Cultural Center to visit in Ronan.

Both routes are gorgeous! I've given details about both in previous posts....click my name to read more, or ask questions.

Enjoy, and aloha!
