Romance in kalispell

My hubby and I are heading to kalispell for our 10th anniversary this weekend. We are planning on skiing for 1 day and then sightseeing/hiking for the rest of our 4 day trip. I have a couple questions

#1 what is the best romantic restaurant in the area?

#2 rather than Whitefish (Big Mountain) is the skiing at Showdown or blacktail (?) a decent hill? We want to avoid the lines and only ski once a year so we're not looking for a huge hill, just something for a couple hours of fun. We are used to skiing the Alberta Rockies and love them but also have just as much fun at the smaller hills in the park such as kananaskis, Norque etc

#3 What are the best sights to see... Scenery wise, we love to hike as well as go for a drive and see as much of the beauty as we can!

.Any recommendation on what we can do to make our 10th anniversary a romantic getaway would be greatly appreciated!

Best Kalispell restaurants are Capers, on Main St in downtown, or the Blue Stone Grill next to the HIlton Garden Inn on Hwy 93 on the south end of Kalispell.

Bigfork and Whitefish both have more offerings of fine dining, both an easy drive from Kalispell. You can also spend time in each of these charming towns, walking the streets and seeing the shops and galleries.

Short walk around Lone Pine State Park just to the west of Kalispell will give you a stunning view of the whole valley.

Walk the Wild Mile Swan River Nature Trail near downtown Bigfork for another easy, scenic hike.

Drive out to Glacier National Park to see Lake McDonald...always gorgeous regardless of the weather. Could rent snowshoes from Sportsman Ski Haus in Kalispell to hike around this area.

Check out this local newspaper for the most complete listings of daily events throughout the valley: www.flatheadbeacon.com and click on "Happenings". Loads of stuff going on!

Sorry, can't answer the snow and skiing conditions, maybe someone else can chime in?

Most of all, have a fabulous 10th anniversary celebration, and thanks for chosing the Flathead Valley as your destination!

I am a fan of the restaurant at the Golf Course at Whitefish. Good food, rustic and warm setting, a bit expensive but an anniversary type of place.

Try North Bay Grille in Kalispell for a romantic dinner out. Also Invite in Bigfork is very intimate. Main Street in Whitefish has lots of nice restaurants and bars. If you are in the Bigfork area and the weather is decent head down the lake to a place called The Raven. Fun, cute little bar restaurant right on the lake with stunning views and awesome margaritas and calamari! It is a very popular scene in the summer.
