Mandalay Bay says NO rooms available? Huh?

Ok going to Vegas for the first time and I am checking rooms like a vigilante every day waiting for price drops. Taking TA advice I want to book directly with the hotels so that if the price drops I will be taken care of.

Just jumped on Mandalay Bay's site and put in April 30th for 3 nights and it came back that NO rooms were available AT ALL. Does this seem strange to anyone? Dont they have thousands of rooms? Maybe it's just a glitch on the site....

Just thought I would post and get some opinions.

Ah ha. That must be it. But the dates i used were Mon, Tues, Wed nights. No problems at any of the other hotels.....

I have the MGM booked for 3 nights that weekend, 3rd-6th, thank god....

If you are going, enjoy the game!

It could be that they have a large in-house convention booked for that time period. They do have a large events center on the west side of the property so it wouldn't surprise me too much. I used to work in convention services, and typically the event's producer blocks a ton of rooms to begin with. Around 60 days out, they have to release what hasn't been booked at the convention rate back to the hotel. Even if that's the case and some rooms become available, they may go for a premium rate due to the rest of the hotel having a high occupancy rate. This is just my guess, as there doesn't seem to be any holidays around that time of year. I'd book something else as a back-up that is refundable, and keep checking if MB is what you really want.

The NCAA Final Four is early April, isn't it? Not the 30th.

There is a convention at Mandaly Bay during that time frame so they have either sold out or they have rooms blocked for it. During convention season, hotels will sell out so you need to make your initial reservation for your first choice early. You should check again later but I wouldn't expect great pricing.

The Help Desk Institute? Does that mean computer geeks??!?! Yum.

MB was not my first choice... I am hoping to do MGM for the entire stay or perhaps the Signature.... just depending on rates.

Also looking into Flamingo, Monte, etc...
