Shuttles to Rio and Orleans

I recently got a great list from this site of all the available shuttles to different casinos.............thanks to whomever compiled it.

I'm assuming they are open to anyone and you don't have to be staying at a particular hotel to board...............right?????

Correct. Officially the Orleans guests are seated first and any seats left go to non-guests but this has not happened that often. Very few people have been asked to show keys. You do not have to be a guest to use the Rio shuttle.

needagetaway: A few months back, I received an e-mail stating never to turn in your room keys when checking out, that all your personal information is on the cards and will stay there until they are re-issued.and unscrupulous hotel clerks could use that information.....don't know if this is true, but I have been keeping the hotel room keys since...Now, when I visit the Orleans or Gold Coast, I have a room key to show the driver even if I am not staying there... The Coast properties are very inconsistent in applying their rule of hotel guests only on their shuttles...seems like its only a problem in the summer-time...Plus, now that the Barbary is not a Coast property, the shuttle may not be available in the future...

the room key situation is a HOAX always go to snopes to validate any junk e-mails.

you are supposed to be a guest to use some of the shuttles before non-guests. at busy times they do enforce this, albeit w/o strict consistency, requiring showing of room key. the keys are changed often.

People on another site (forum) have e-mailed the Orleans. The answer they have all gotten from the Orleans is that the shuttle will continue to the Barbary Coast for now. If a problem develops in the future they will then find another spot on the strip to use as their pick-up/drop off point. Sam's Town uses the Barbary Coast as one of their pick-up points so I don't see why the Orleans could not do the same. I think the Orleans is very well aware of the fact that their popularity depends on having a shuttle to the strip. I doubt if they would ever let the shuttle disappear.

I have never been asked to show a room key for the Orleans, Sam's Town, Gold Coast or Rio shuttle. Ever. And I have been using them for years. My last visit was in November. I always rent a car but at times using the shuttle is more convenient.

Needagetaway63 - I will need you to sign a waiver so that i am in no way liable for anyone not getting on a shuttle from my list. This also pertains to personal injury while on or off the shuttle.

My sister told me that they did, one time, ask to see rooms keys so they showed them the back of their room key from the Alladin and it worked.
